The 5th Annual Fall Westchester County Home Show

The 5th Annual Fall Westchester County Home Show

Features a diverse array of products, services, with metro flair

Oct. 31-Nov. 1

WHITE PLAINS, NY – The 5th annual Fall Westchester County Home Show, Oct, 31-Nov. 1, offers over 150 displays of the very best home improvement companies in the Metro area, attracting attendees from the suburbs to the city.

The event is one of Jenks Productions newest regional home shows. Located at the Westchester County Center in prestigious White Plains, NY, this home show boasts an elite attendance from one of the wealthiest enclaves in the metropolitan area.
With New York City just a stone's throw away, the home show offers a diverse array of products and services, with a metro flair. Featuring local, state and national exhibitors, who will present innovative and imaginative displays.

Food bank supplies are extremely low, so Jenks Productions, Inc. invites attendees to bring a non-perishable food item and receive $2 off admission. All food donations benefit Food Bank of Westchester.

Companies exhibiting at the 5th annual Fall Westchester County Home Show include remodelers, homebuilders, custom cabinets, kitchen and bath, chimneys, wood stoves, sunrooms, awnings and decks, duct and vent maintenance, storage buildings, heating and cooling services, windows, doors and siding, water treatment systems, bank and mortgage companies, home theatre systems, security systems, financial planners, building supplies, insulation, energy management companies and much more.

Home improvement specialists can assist consumers in determining which products will benefit homeowner’s wallets and create tax savings. Earlier this year, the federal government passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (a.k.a. the Economic Recovery Act) to help rebuild the economy. Homeowners can now qualify for expanded tax credits on energy-efficiency improvements with the deadline for applying extended through the end of 2010.

Besides remodeling and design exhibitors, patrons can bring small antiques, collectibles and photographs of larger furniture pieces to the Fall Westchester County Home Show for a free appraisal, compliments of Stamford Auction & Braswell Galleries.

Register to win a variety of outstanding quality home improvement products including a beautiful ProVia entry door from show sponsor Franzoso’s Contracting at booth #26; Solutube daylighting/skylight from Brighter Concepts of Fairfield County at booth #84; and a Grass Stitcher, eco-lawn tool from Grass Stitcher of Lebanon Conn,

The legend.  Glittering with wit, glowing with melody.

What better moment in history to relive the idealism of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table than now?  Chivalry, honor, and brotherhood reign supreme, while also serving the grand romance that binds this fable's heart.  The last lines of the title song--"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief, shining moment, that was known as Camelot"--were a favorite of President Kennedy and became synonymous with thouse thousand days when people the world over basked in his message of hope.  We revive the musical, President Obama the optimism.

"9 Star Hotel" Film Screening And Q&A With Director (6:00PM)
Sarah Lawrence College-Titsworth Lecture Hall FreeIn an event sponsored by Hillel at Sarah Lawrence College, a screening of Ido Haar’s film 9 Star Hotel will be held on the campus this fall.  Filmmakers follow illegal Palistinian construction laborers Ahmed and Muhammad, one a merry collector of found objects, the other a philosophical criticaster of the Palestinian character.  Together, they share food, belongings and stories, and live under the constant threat of getting arrested as police, soldiers and the secret service are all tirelessly on the alert for illegal workers. With raw, handheld images, this disconcerting yet touching film documents friendship, nostalgia and the uncompromising urge to survive.  A free dinner and Q & A with the director are included in this event.

UPs And Downs Of Being A Caregiver (6:30PM - 9:30PM)
Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH), one of only nine hospitals in the United States to have achieved the coveted Planetree Hospital Designation, announced today that Lee Woodruff, author of two books on caregiving, will hold a discussion about the ups and downs of being a caregiver on Wednesday, November 11,  at 6:30 PM at Northern Westchester Hospital, 400 East Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY. The lecture celebrates the Ken Hamilton Caregiver Center at NWH and National Caregiver Month. Ms. Woodruff spent many months as a caregiver for her husband, Bob, who was injured in Iraq.  She will talk about the challenges of being the primary caregiver to a severely injured husband while caring for four young children and ailing parents.  Her books, In an Instant and Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress, reflect her journey as a caregiver, sister, friend, parent and neighbor. A book signing will follow the lecture. The opening of the Ken Hamilton Caregivers Center in November 2007 was the culmination of two years of planning and fundraising by Hamilton’s widow, Marian Hamilton of Armonk. Although her husband died of a rare lung cancer at another hospital in 2004, she chose to open the center at NWH because she admires its Planetree model of patient-focused, family-centered care. She raised $900,000 for construction, furnishings and an endowment through community donations and a matching grant.  Please call 914-242-8372 for more information on Lee Woodruff’s lecture and book signing. ###

Camelot: Irvington Town Hall Theater (7:30PM - 9:30PM)
