The third annual Chef’s Tasting to benefit the UGC Foundation of the United Hebrew Geriatric Center will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Willow Towers, 355 Pelham Road, New Rochelle. The event will take place from 6-9 pm and will feature tastings from the finest Westchester restaurants, including: An American Bistro, Balducci’s, Conga, Fratelli, Jani Japanese & Chinese Cuisine, MacMenamin’s Grill, Mamma Francesca, Mulino’s of Westchester, Rustico, Tequila Sunrise, Terra Rustica, The Sterling Inn, and Turquoise. Chairperson for the event is New Rochelle businessman Harrin Platzner.
Each of the restaurants will have their Chef prepare a sample menu at a buffet-style dinner. A Wine tasting will be presented by Ned Towle, Founder and Director, Westchester Wine School. Shore Road Wine & Spirits and The Surf Club are supporters of the event.
Ticket prices are $55 per person. A paid reservation enters the ticket holder into a “Dinner for Two” raffle at one of our participating restaurants.
United Hebrew Geriatric Center is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization which has been serving the community for over 85 years. The 4.5 acre campus on Pelham Road in New Rochelle encompasses a 270 bed skilled nursing facility, independent housing for seniors and Willow Towers, a new assisted living community. Willow Towers features 126 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments for seniors needing supportive services, with an array of amenities and delightful views of the Long Island Sound. Willow Towers also offers The Phoenix Neighborhood for those with memory impairment.
UGC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The UGC Foundation supports the United Hebrew Geriatric Center (UHGC) in caring for the neediest and most impaired seniors in our society.
