The Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse presents a a FREE folk concert on Sept. 24 to debut its 18th season in a new home, Memorial United Methodist Church's Asbury Hall.
Because the concert coincides with a giant rally and peace march in Washington, D.C. , the performers -- the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and some special friends -- will focus on solidarity with the demonstrators and urge the government to bring the troops home from Iraq.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m, but an hour before the start, the Walkabout Clearwater Chorus -- a group of volunteer musicians whose repertory covers a wide range of folk songs with themes of environmental conservation, peace, racial harmony and social justice -- will lead its traditional “Teachabout,” an informal sing-along with the audience.
