Community Counseling and Yonkers Community Action Program (YCAP) are joining together to provide local children with school supplies for the upcoming year. YCAP provides a free after-school program to approximately 35 children in Southwest Yonkers. Because the services are free, YCAP depends on grants and donations to meet their operating needs.
To fill a book bag, please donate the following items:
*small pencil sharpener
*box of 24 Crayons
*zippered pencil case
*magic markers
*glue sticks
*children’s scissors
*loose-leaf paper
*3x5 index cards
*3 marble notebooks
*ruler
*3 two-pocket folders
*10 #2 pencils
Other items needed by the after-school program are:
Books (geared for children from grades K-3)
Board Games
Art Supplies
Educational DVD’s
Donations are being accepted now throughout the month of August. Monetary contributions should be made payable to Yonkers Community Action Program. Items can be mailed to or dropped off at YCAP 164 Ashburton Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701 between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm. A pick up can be scheduled by contacting Community Counseling at 800-909-4981 or kcox@communitycounseling.biz.
