SEAS Westchester offers FUN! low cost Basic Sailing Courses by American Red Cross Trained Sailing Instructors during the summer season in White Plains, NY and at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
Here is what you can learn with 4 classroom sessions and 2 Water site days: Sailing Terminology, Sailing Aerodynamics, Sailing Hydrodynamics, How-to's of boat rigging, launching & mooring. boating rules of the road, boat handling and water safety. At the Water site: You will gain 16 hours of fun hands on experience using Phantoms and Sunfish hulls applying the classroom knowledge.
Cost: $195 for 4 classroom sessions and 2 Water Site Days
Classes from May thorugh August 2008.
Course Requirements for students: at least 18 Yrs old, in good physical condition, be able to swim. Minimum of 6 students per class. Enrollment limited to 16 students per class. SEAS Westchester is a Non-Profit organization.
