The Montfort Academy welcomes the off-Broadway smash hit "Late Nite Catechism" for a single performance on Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. Catechism class is made fun and hilarious when led by “Sister”, who switches back and forth from benevolent instructor to authoritative drill sergeant. This one-night-only interactive performance, which The New York Times calls “uproarious, vastly appealing and well written” is sure to deliver a night full of laughter to be enjoyed with friends and family. An international hit comedy by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan, "Late Night Catechism" was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award in New York and won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Lead Performance. Sister, the checkered linoleum and habit-clad nun, will bring back memories of Catholic school in days gone by. Catholics and non-Catholics alike become part of what is sure to be the most comical and enjoyable adult catechism class ever attended. The authoritarian whims of Sister steer the evening as she doles out glow-in-the-dark rosaries at one moment and confiscates lipstick and candy at the next. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Sister's class (the play) will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40.00 each and include light refreshments and “indulgences” before and after the show and during intermission.
