A 3-mile walkathon sponsored by Support Connection, Inc. to increase awareness about breast and ovarian cancer. Participants walk in celebration of or in tribute to those affected by these diseases.
Scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2005 (Rain or Shine) at FDR State Park, Route 202, Yorktown Heights, NY (off the Taconic State Parkway.)
Pre-Walk activities begin at 9:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., there is a ribbon-cutting and the Walk begins!
There will be entertainment including live music, face painting, and warm-up exercises, as well as refreshments and a raffle.
Master of Ceremonies will be Kacey Morabito, of popular radio team“ Mike and Kacey in the Morning” on 100.7 WHUD. Honorary Chairpersons are actress Glenn Close, and First Lady of Westchester and Childcare Advocate Brenda Resnick Spano.
Proceeds from this event will be used to maintain and enhance Support Connection’s free, confidential support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Support Connection is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
