I vote Democrat even though I'm registered as an Independent. When it comes to the presidential candidates, I like Hillary Clinton because I think she has more experience than most everybody else and because I think she's more of a centrist candidate, flexible when it comes to finding solutions to domestic problems, like her husband Bill was before her.

I like Barack O'Bama because he is smart, well-spoken, and "fresh", as far as politics goes. but I don't think he has enough experience, just being in his first term as a senator. I think he'll be someone to contend with in 2012 and 2016 and could be the first black candidate to represent his party in a Presidential race.

The rest of the Democrats are a bunch of nobodies and has-beens. A lot of people, me included, wouldn't mind seeing Al Gore jump in the race and mix things up. He's a man of integrity, though I'd not be surprised if a lot of people are tired of all the exposure he's gotten recently with the global warming issue he's been pressing ni recent years.

On the Republican side, as a New Yorker, you have to have a soft spot for Giuliani. However, before 9-11, New Yorkers were very tired of him, his marital troubles, and his inability to reach out to minorities. In other words, a lot of people couldn't wait until his term was over. Of course, 9-11 showed him in a different light and as a New Yorker and Americans we were all very proud of how he handled that tragedy and disaster. That said, that doesn't mean he'd make a good Pesident. Before 9-11, he was merely a good Mayor. And the Republicans will never nominate him anyway.

I don't like any of the other Republicans, though I respect John McCain a lot as a man of integrity. Too bad men of integrity don't make good politicians these days. We have too many politicians and too few statesmen.

But if you ask me, I'd vote for Mike Bloomberg any day of the week. I really would like him to hop in the race. He gets things done. He is above partisan politics and just wants solutions. He doesn't flip flop like other politicians. He says what he means and he means what he says. Whether you agree with him ior not is another thing. And he doesn't pander to the public like all other politicians. Either you like him or you don't, and he doesn't care which - he's not going to change his mind on something to please you. Bloomberg is probably too "liberal" for conservative Republicans, but if he runs for President and is able to get middle America to listen to him, I think he'd grab enough middle-of-the-road, common sense, Republicans and Democrats to give the major parties a real run for their money.
