We Should Be Tough On Illegal Immigrants 2007/06/09 09:16 Karma: 0
Usually I am pretty liberal when it comes to taking care of the poor, the aged, and those in need. And I am all for helping those people who have come to our county legally to become educated, get jobs, and be good members of society.

However, I really don't have any sympathy for people who are here illegally and see no reason why we should go to any trouble to give them amnesty, give them benefits, or give them access to services meant for citizens. That means no driver's licenses, that means you can't go to local schools, no food stamps, no health benefits, no government benefits of any kind. If we catch you, we send you and your family back to your own county. If we find companies employing you, we fine them heavily. If you're standing on a street corner in Mamaroneck as a day laborer looking for work, we have every right to see if you're here legally.

Am I against immigrants? No. Am I against illegal immigrants? Heck, yeah!

And we should build a huge fence between the US and Mexico to shut the border from the illegal immigrants coming here in droves every day.

The laws on the books should be enforced.

And I don't see why politicians are mixing up the two issues - enforcement of the law and immigration policy. Sure, write a new policy for new legal immigrants coming to the country. Go right ahead.

But that has nothing to do with the millions of illegal immigrants that are here or that are streaming over the borders every night. These people should be dealt with strictly with the laws already on the books. Send them home. I don't want any amnesty for those people here illegally.

They all need to go back to where ever thay came from. I have been waiting for 10 years to have my brother in law here legally from Europe and still looks like years to go before he will be able to come here legally. What does this Amnesty say to all the people that would love to be American citizens? Illegal is Illegal and i don't know why there is a discussion except money to be made on cheap labor. Just let them all in! We will not know the United States as it is now. It will be another Mexico but the politicians don't care because it will be either rich or poor and they will be rich off of all the money their getting for selling us out! All ILLEGALS GET THE HELL OUT AND LET IN IMMIGRANTS WHO WANT TO COME IN LEGALLY AND HAVE WAITED THEIR TURN.

It's all fault of the Latin community countries to make you believe that all you Americans are better than us... May God have mercy on you!

American CITIZENS don't feel like we're "better" than those in the Latino community. We feel betrayed by our own government because it is allowing immigrants to enter our country ILLEGALLY and run our system dry. We give illegal immigrants free education, free health care, free school breakfast and lunch, tax-free labor, and those of us who work legitimately get none of that. Its a disgrace. We have nothing against the Latin community, we just don't understand why people who want to make a better life in the USA can't follow our rules and come into this country LEGALLY. If the Latino community wants respect from American citizens, they have to EARN it by following the RULES and LAWS of OUR country.
