Concordia Womens Basketball Announces NLI Signees
Bronxville, NY - Concordia women’s basketball Head Coach John DeSio recently announced that Rebecca Gordon (Medford, N.Y.), Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) have signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball with the Clippers for the 2013-14 season.
Gordon, a 6-foot-4 center, is currently a starting senior for Patchoque-Medford High School. “We followed her all summer while playing for the Salvation Army AAU team coached by Ralph Rosetti,” stated DeSio. “Rebecca is an industrious worker and powerful rebounder.” Gordon lives in Medford, N.Y. with her mother Rosemary and her father James.
Rosalbo, a 5-foot-5 guard, is a senior from Curtis High School who played on last season’s PSAL Division A Championship team. “She can transition from the 1 to 2 position without difficulty,” explained DeSio. “She is a strong and tireless defender with game savvy.” Rosalbo is in the Nursing Program at Curtis and plans on continuing her career here at Concordia. She lives in Staten Island, N.Y. with her mother Laura and father Andrew.
Rubin, a 5-foot-10 guard, is currently finishing her senior year at Moore Catholic High School. “Over the Summer I watched Victoria improve and hone her skills as a member of the New York City Heat AAU team, under the tutelage of Head Coach Hugh Flaherty,” stated DeSio. “I believe she is an integral part of the success of her high school team, with her shooting and tenacious defense. I look forward to her arrival and immediate impact on our team. I am sure she will continue to grow and improve her game as a member of the Concordia family.” Her high school, for which she is a starter, is projected to be very successful this season. Rubin lives in Staten Island, N.Y. with her parents, Cathy and Steven and two sisters.
