Concordia Mens Tennis Captures 4 Awards
Bronxville, NY - The seventh-ranked Concordia College Clippers men's tennis team captured four of the six East Region awards given out by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) this season.
Mark Mozer (Brest, Belarus) was chosen as the Rookie of the Year as he is currently 17-2 in singles and 5-1 in doubles play. His 17 singles wins are the most on the Clippers' roster this season and his No. 10 singles ranking in the East Region is the best among freshman in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Mozer was also named the CACC Rookie of the Year and to the CACC All-First Team.
Sophomore David Tisserand (Lyon, France) was named as the ITA’s Player to Watch in the East Region as he currently holds a 17-4 singles and 14-9 doubles record. He is a perfect 7-0 in No. 2 Singles play as Tisserand has also been named to the All-CACC First Team and the All-CACC Tournament Team. David is currently the fifth-ranked singles player in the East Region according to the ITA.
Concordia’s season will continue on Wednesday afternoon with their Round of 16 match against the No. 9 Grand Canyon University Antelopes. The match takes place at 5pm in Louisville, KY at the EP Tom Sawyer State Park. Fans can follow the action via Live Stats on ConcordiaClippers.com.
