Free classes for those diagnosed and breast cancer survivors at Hudson Yoga are taught by a rotation of qualified instructors, in movement, yoga, and meditation organized by laughing hearts yoga. Hudson Yoga, the first yoga studio to offer these classes in the area, is a warm and nurturing space that invites people to practice together. Sharing healing energy, connections are created as participant’s inner focus is revitalized, confidence is instilled, as well as the selfawareness of their power to heal themselves. A new study conducted by UCLA published December 16, 2011 in the journal Cancer, discovered that after 3 months of twice-weekly yoga classes, fatigue was significantly decreased and participants had increased vigor. Additionally, Breastcancer.org noted that research presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology, 126 women diagnosed with Stage I or II breast cancer were involved in a yoga study. Those who took yoga classes had 12% improvement in fatigue, physical functioning, and quality of life compared to those who did not take yoga classes.
