Free Bereavement Support Groups Offered
Tarrytown, NY - Bereavement groups are offered to support those who are dealing with a loss of a special someone. They provide support, encouragement and education in the journey towards healing.
In addition to regularly scheduled groups, other groups and workshops are periodically offered dealing with such topics as “Coping with the Holidays,” “Writing Through Grief,” “Mid-life Partner Loss” and “Cooking for One.” Please call Valerie Braun for more information, (914) 666-4228, ext. 492.
Any Loss/General Bereavement:
- Mt. Kisco – Northern Westchester Hospital on the second Wednesday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 11th, February 8th and March 14th.
- Carmel – Putnam Hospital Center on the second Monday of each month, the next meetings will take place on January 9th, February 13th and March 12th.
- Cortlandt Manor – Hudson Valley Hospital Center (Dempsey House) on the third Tuesday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 17th, February 21st and March 20th.
- Cold Spring – Our Lady of Loretto Church on the second Saturday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 14th, February 11th and March 10th.
- Tarrytown – Suite 300, 540 White Plains Road on the second Saturday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 10th, February 14th and March 13th.
Loss of Spouse:
- Carmel – Putnam Hospital Center on the fourth Monday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 23rd, February 27th and March 26th.
- Brewster – Trinity Lutheran Church on the first Friday of each month, the next meetings will be held on January 6th, February 3rd and March 2nd.

The Caring Circle:
An ongoing, supportive program for grieving children and their families. Age-specific peer groups utilize discussion and activities to provide a safe environment to foster healthy grieving and promote healing for both children and adults. Four adult bereavement groups run concurrently with The Caring Circle: Spousal Loss, Child Loss, Adult Loss of Parent and Perinatal Loss.
- Yonkers – Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church on alternate Thursdays.
Upcoming meetings will be held on January 5th and 19th; February 2nd and 16th; and March 1st, 15th and 29th.
- Yorktown – Yorktown Presbyterian Church on alternate Wednesdays.
Upcoming meetings will be held on January 11th and 25th; February 8th and 22nd; and March 7th and 21st.
- New Rochelle – Sound Shore Medical Center/Solomon Katz Breast Center on alternate Tuesdays.
Upcoming meetings will be held on January 10th and 24th; February 7th and 21st; and March 6th and 20th.
Perinatal Bereavement Support Program:
A perinatal bereavement support program for families who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy, at birth or shortly after birth.
- Yonkers – Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church on alternate Thursdays.
