Katonah Museum Of Art Offers Docent Training Workshops
Katonah, NY - The Katonah Museum of Art (KMA) is currently seeking volunteers to join their growing Docent Program in preparation for the opening of Ice Age to the Digital Age: The 3D Animation Art of Blue Sky Studios.
An integral part of the Museum’s mission to “promote the understanding and enjoyment of the arts for visitors of all ages,” KMA Docents lead varied and interesting tours that are tailored for adult and school groups. These intensive, college-level training sessions include insightful, information-packed lectures that fully immerse volunteers in each exhibition.
Introduction to Docenting Workshop
Monday, August 27 from 10-11:30am at the Katonah Museum of Art
New docents will be introduced to the pedagogy and practice behind tours at the Museum.
Docent training for Ice Age to the Digital Age: The 3D Animation Art of Blue Sky Studios
September 5 & 12 from 9:30-11:30am at the Jacob Burns Film Center Media Lab
Participants will learn about the intricate, labor-intensive work that goes into the 3D animation magic of films such as Ice Age, Rio, and Robots. From initial concept drawings to mind-blowing digital animation techniques, Blue Sky Studios is a leader in the animation industry.
Ice Age to the Digital Age: The 3D Animation Art of Blue Sky Studios opens to the public on Sunday, September 16 and will be on view through January 20, 2013.
