Ossining Library Presents Ted Daniels In Concert
Ossining, NY - On Sunday, February 12, the Ossining Library Foundation will present Ted Daniel and his International Brass & Membrane Corps. at 3pm in the Library’s Budarz Theater.
Trumpeter Ted Daniel grew up in Ossining, frequently collaborating with legendary guitarist Sonny Sharrock before studying music theory and composition at City College of New York. Daniel performed with a number of ensembles and jazz musicians including Brute Force, Archie Shepp, Dewey Redman, Andrew Cyrille, Sam Rivers, Billy Bang and Henry Threadgill, taught workshops and master classes throughout the United States as well as in Japan and Spain, and received a compositional grant from the National Endowment for the Arts before forming the International Brass and Membrane Corps. Daniel describes the IBMC trio as a “flexible and expandable creative music performance group,” utilizing brass instruments and a variety of percussion.
