Curator Of ArtsWestchester Urban Jazz Series To Release CD
White Plains, NY - On Wednesday, July 27, 2011, beginning at 7 pm, acclaimed Jazz musician and Westchester native Bob Baldwin will release his new CD.
Bob Baldwin has been the guest curator of ArtsWestchester Jazz programs since 2009. The “NewUrbanJazz.com 2 / Re-Vibe," CD album features musicians Glenn Jones, Ragan Whiteside, Darren Rahn, Joey Sommerville, Eric Essix, Barry Danielian, Freddy V., and Chip Shearin. Some of these musicians have also been featured at concerts at The Arts Exchange.
ArtsWestchester is planning a 2012 jazz series, which will once again, be planned in collaboration with Mr. Baldwin’s New Urban Jazz radio and music marketing project. Events will take place in February and March of 2012. For more information, visit www.artswestchester.org/newurbanjazz/
The early reviews of Mr. Baldwin’s CD have been overwhelmingly positive. Digital Jazz News, for example, extolled Mr. Baldwin’s CD writing, "There are literally no surprises in a disc that tells you what to expect the second you hit play. If "New Urban Jazz" is your thing then this is a must. My feeling is that the cross over potential on this release is huge!"
“Our goal with our ArtsWestchester Hosts series has been to provide a venue where we can showcase a wide range of performing artists with links to the county,” explains ArtsWestchester CEO Janet T. Langsam. “We are especially proud of Bob on this accomplishment. The party will also provide an opportunity to give residents a ‘sneak peek’ at the concerts we have planned for 2011 & 2012. We hope many people will join us for a great party on July 27th as we recognize all of these wonderful performing artists.”
Admission for the event is $15.00 with a free CD at admission ($10 without a CD). The listening party at Arts Westchester will be followed with a jam session at the Lazy Lounge in White Plains. Those wishing to attend may RSVP by calling (914) 428-4220 x 330 or visit www.artswestchester.org.
