Anthony Enea Elected Elder Law Chair Of NYSBA
White Plains, NY - White Plains based law firm Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP announced that managing partner Anthony J. Enea is the newly-elected chair of the Elder Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).
"It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as chair of the section," said Enea, a Somers resident who has practiced elder law in White Plains for over 25 years.
He notes that the leadership position comes with significant responsibilities.
"New York's seniors and disabled populations are facing a long term care crisis of significant proportion," said Enea. "One of my primary goals as chair is to lead our membership in communicating the importance of elder law planning to seniors and the disabled early on so that their rights, and life savings, can be protected."
Enea stated that additionally as chair he will oversee the Section's many legislation activities which include reviewing, proposing and advocating for legislation that protects the interests of seniors and the disabled.
Prior to being elected chair of NYSBA's Elder Law Section, Enea was an active member of the Section, having served as an officer for the past four years. Additionally, Enea has served in numerous other leadership positions within the legal community including being a past president of the Westchester County Bar Association and a past president of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He also is a member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is on the Guardianship Advisory Committee of the Office of Court Administration for the State of New York.
