Scarsdale, NY - The Board of Directors of the Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) is pleased to announce that Margaret Tjimos Goldberg has been appointed Executive Director, effective September 10th, 2012.

Ms. Goldberg has longstanding ties with the Nature Center, having served on the Center’s Board of Directors from 2004 to 2009, including two years as Board President. During that period she helped spearhead efforts to expand the Center’s fundraising reach and developed valuable partnerships with local community businesses and organizations. In 2009, she received the GNC Appreciation Award in recognition of her outstanding and dedicated service to the organization.

Ms. Goldberg is a 26-year resident of the Edgemont area of Greenburgh. From 2005 to 2010 she also served on the Board of Directors of the Scarsdale Teen Center, including two years as Co-President, and was instrumental in creating organization culture and developing new programs and events for teens.

In addition to her background in the non-profit arena, Ms.Goldberg has a law degree from Pace University School of Law, White Plains, and has extensive experience in the professional marketplace, with particular expertise in sales strategy, development and oversight. Since 2004 she has served as Business Development/Operations Officer at Damar TriState Sales, Inc., a White Plains-based manufacturers representative agency.

“The search process produced a number of excellent candidates, and the Board felt that Margaret was, by far, the best fit for the Nature Center going forward,” said Board President Bennett Fradkin. “Her diligence, work ethic and community involvement will be great assets for the Nature Center, and we welcome her enthusiastically.”
