Greenburgh Nature Center Welcomes New Executive Director
Scarsdale, NY - The Board of Directors of the Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) is pleased to announce that Margaret Tjimos Goldberg has been appointed Executive Director, effective September 10th, 2012.
Ms. Goldberg is a 26-year resident of the Edgemont area of Greenburgh. From 2005 to 2010 she also served on the Board of Directors of the Scarsdale Teen Center, including two years as Co-President, and was instrumental in creating organization culture and developing new programs and events for teens.
In addition to her background in the non-profit arena, Ms.Goldberg has a law degree from Pace University School of Law, White Plains, and has extensive experience in the professional marketplace, with particular expertise in sales strategy, development and oversight. Since 2004 she has served as Business Development/Operations Officer at Damar TriState Sales, Inc., a White Plains-based manufacturers representative agency.
“This is a wonderful opportunity, and I look forward to working closely with board members and staff. The Greenburgh Nature Center offers many programs and events throughout the year, and we can actively build on that strong foundation to further engage our community,” said Ms. Goldberg.
“The search process produced a number of excellent candidates, and the Board felt that Margaret was, by far, the best fit for the Nature Center going forward,” said Board President Bennett Fradkin. “Her diligence, work ethic and community involvement will be great assets for the Nature Center, and we welcome her enthusiastically.”
