Westchester Jewish Community Services Receives Grant
White Plains, NY - Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) has been awarded $20,000 from the Arnold E. and Olga C. Feldman Fund of the Westchester Community Foundation.
Honored in 2010 with Westchester County Department of Health Distinguished Public Health Service, Young Parents Achieve! supports high school graduation or GED completion, avoidance of second pregnancy, and provides wrap-around case management services both during and after the pregnancy to support the future economic self sufficiency and the health and well-being of both the mother and her child.
“The support of the Westchester Community Foundation will make a substantial impact toward improving the health and well-being of teen mothers in Tarrytown and their children,” said Megan Flynn, WJCS Assistant Executive Director, Children and Youth Services. “With this funding, Young Parents Achieve! can further help teenage mothers to thrive, prepare for productive futures and build strong foundations for their babies.”
The Westchester Community Foundation (WCD) is a nonprofit community endowment for the benefit of Westchester County. Its mission is to develop and mage philanthropic resources, and to distribute them in a way that is responsive to donor interests and community needs.
