WEDC Adds Two New Board Members
White Plains, NY - Jacqueline J. Warner, Esq. of Ossining and Karen A. Campbell of Tuckahoe have been named to the board of directors of the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC), announced Anne Janiak, executive director.
"We are very fortunate to have Jacqueline and Karen join our board," said Ms. Janiak. "Their combined legal and financial expertise will be a true asset to WEDC as we continue to expand our services to help women entrepreneurs strengthen their start-up and established businesses."
Jacqueline J. Warner is an attorney at the national law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP in White Plains. She has more than 20 years of experience with corporate, securities, and real estate legal issues, as well as estate planning and administration. Ms. Warner regularly advises clients on starting and growing their businesses, raising capital via private offerings, and contract negotiations. She is the author and publisher of the book, The Mini Legal Toolbox™ for Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners, and the soon-to-be-released Raising Capital for Your Business: Understanding Private Offerings.
Ms. Warner received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Howard University and attended Howard University School of Law. Since 2007, she has been an instructor for CEO Space International, Inc., an organization that helps owners and entrepreneurs reach their potential. In addition, she is a board member of the Westchester Black Bar Association and serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations, including the Stroke of Hope Foundation and Avitar Foundation. She is a former director of the Interfaith Council for Action (IFCA) in Ossining.
Karen A. Campbell has been a vice president and wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch in Scarsdale and White Plains since 1993. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Ms. Campbell was a corporate banker with three international banks: Société Générale, Royal Bank of Canada, and Bank of America. She has been a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) since 2002 and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) since 2007.
Ms. Campbell earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, her master's degree in English literature from Boston College, and her MBA in finance and international business from Columbia University's Columbia Business School. She was a founding member of the Edgemont School Foundation and has been involved with Planned Parenthood and My Sisters' Place.
