Business Council Welcomes New Board Members
White Plains, NY - The Business Council of Westchester (BCW) recently elected seven members of the business community to its Board of Directors.
“These individuals bring a wide range of knowledge, skills and innovation to the Business Council,” said Business Council of Westchester President/CEO Dr. Marsha Gordon. “I’m confident that each will make significant and creative contributions to our effort to provide growth opportunities, education and advocacy to our members.
Renee Brown, president and CEO of C. W. Brown, has been CEO of the company since its inception in 1984. She is responsible for oversight of field operations, business management, financial decisions, human resources, marketing and sales. Renee has served as a featured lecturer at Westchester Community College, the New York Real Estate Institute and Columbia University. C.W. Brown Inc.’s state-of-the-art office in Armonk, which was conceptualized, developed and built by Renee and the C.W. Brown team, serves as an education center for sustainable building practices.
Daniel Conte, general manager of the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown, has total accountability for hotel performance in sales, profit, owner relations, adherence to Marriott brand standards, F&B positioning, and guest and associate satisfaction. He has been with Marriott for 23 years, serving in various positions at hotels in the tri-state area, where he has earned many service and leadership awards. Dan is also president of the Westchester Hotel Association.
Joanne R. Deyo, vice president of facilities at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., is the senior facilities executive for the company’s R&D and corporate headquarters and other satellite locations. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership with a wide range of responsibilities including capital budgeting, real estate management and lease negotiation, facility analysis, design and construction, telecommunications, security and more. Joanne is a member of the International Facility Management Association, the New York Biotechnology Association, BioHud Valley and was a core committee founder of Regeneron in the Community, an employee volunteer organization at Regeneron.
Timothy M. Jones, managing member of the Robert Martin Company, LLC, is responsible for creating and executing the company’s investment and growth strategy. He also oversees management of existing assets, including land and commercial properties in Florida, California, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Tim is a regular speaker for numerous professional organizations, he is a past president of the Yale Basketball Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes/Westchester Chapter and the Avon Old Farm School and a Trustee of Luther College and the Windward School.
Patrick F. Lynch, P.E., C.E.M., LEED AP is the president and a principal of O’Dea, Lynch, Abbattista Consulting Engineers (OLA). He provides the leadership in determining and guiding the course undertaken by the firm in its professional and business activities. As a Certified Energy Manager and a LEED™ Accredited Professional, Pat has a vast knowledge of building systems and has guided the firm to be a leader in the areas of sustainable design and high performance building design.
Yuval H. Marcus, a litigator with more than 15 years of experience in federal courts throughout the country, is a partner with Leason Ellis, LLP, where he specializes in all types of intellectual property disputes, including litigating copyright, trademark, trade dress, patent, false advertising, domain name and trade secret matters. Selected to the New York Metro 2011 Super Lawyers in the category of Intellectual Property Litigation, Yuval serves on the Board of Kids Xpress and co-chairs the Intellectual Property, Computer and Telecommunications Law Section of the Westchester County Bar Association, and the Intellectual Property Committee of the Westchester/Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Simeon A. Schwartz, M.D. is founding president and CEO of WESTMED Medical Group, a 200-physician primary care focused multi-specialty group practice, and the CEO of WESTMED Practice Partners (WPP), a management services company. He is a practicing hematologist and oncologist who is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, hematology and blood banking. He is an associate clinical professor at Weill Cornell School of Medical Care, an attending physician at White Plains Hospital, Greenwich Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital, and serves on multiple medical advisory boards.
Elizabeth Bracken-Thompson, a partner at Thompson and Bender, and Jean Marie Connolly, vice president and senior sales director at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, have joined The Business Council of Westchester Board’s Executive Committee. Executive Committee member Cynthia Rubino, Chief Operating Officer of Berkeley College’s Westchester Campus, will chair the Governmental Action Council (GAC.) The GAC develops the BCW’s annual Legislative Agenda and spearheads the organizations advocacy efforts at the county, state and federal levels.
