Angelica in Italia: A Musical Journey, 1300-1900
Angelica, a women’s chamber choir directed by Marie Caruso, presents music by 13th- through 19th-century Italian composers. Featured works will include Niccola Porpora’s Magnificat, Giuseppe Verdi’s “Laudi alla Vergine Maria,” selections from Giovanni Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Italian madrigals. Joining Angelica will be guest artists Christopher Johnson, organ; Margaret Ziemnicka and Andrea Andros, violins; and Matthew Stauffer, cello.
