 Mt. Kisco, NY - The summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of fun to be had at Westchester County’s pools. Throughout August, each of the four pools will host a Splash Down Party to keep you in that summer state of mind.
Each event will include entertainment by a DJ and a barbecue with food sold at special discount prices. The dates of the Splash Down Party events are as follows:
Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains - Saturday, August 9, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For $7, visitors can purchase a barbecue combo of chicken, ribs, corn and salad. Food will be available until 4:30 p.m.
Saxon Woods Pool is located on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains and can be reached via the Hutchinson River Parkway to exit 23S. Proceed east on Mamaroneck Avenue to park entrance. Saxon Woods Pool is served by Westchester County Bee-Line Route #60.
Tibbetts Brook Pool in Yonkers - Sunday, August 10, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
For $6, visitors can purchase a barbecue combo that includes a cheeseburger, hot dog or grilled chicken, soda and fries. The barbecue will be available until the pool closes at 6 p.m. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can participate in “Tibbetts Idol,” a special karaoke event where you can show off your vocal skills.
Tibbetts Brook Park is located on Midland Avenue in Yonkers and can be reached via the Cross County Parkway to the Yonkers Avenue exit. Tibbetts Brook Pool is served by Route # 4 and # 7. On either route, get off at Midland Ave. and walk in.
Willson’s Waves at Willson’s Woods Park in Mount Vernon - Thursday, August 21, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For $6, visitors can purchase a barbecue combo that includes a cheeseburger, hot dog or grilled chicken, soda and fries. The barbecue will be available until 4:30 p.m.
Willson’s Woods is located on East Lincoln Avenue in Mount Vernon and can be reached via the Hutchinson River Parkway to the Lincoln Avenue exit. Wilson's Waves is served by Route #7. Get off at East Lincoln and Pearsall Drive and walk in on Wilson's Woods Drive.
Sprain Ridge Pool in Yonkers - Saturday, August 23, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Visitors can purchase a combo consisting of a cheeseburger, hot dog or grilled chicken, soda and fries for the special price of $6. The barbecue will be available until the pool closes at 6 p.m.
Sprain Ridge Pool is located on Jackson Avenue in Yonkers and can be reached via the Sprain Brook Parkway to the Jackson Avenue exit.
Normal entry fees apply: $5.75 for visitors 12 and older, $4 for children between 5 and 12, $3.75 for seniors over 60. Children under 5 are free. A Westchester County Park Pass is required for entry.
