Yonkers, NY - Sarah Lawrence College will offer children’s group swim lessons starting January 2009.
All classes will be taught by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors following the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” guidelines and will be held on campus in the Campbell Sports Center. To register for classes or for more information, please call (914) 395-2693 or visit www.sarahlawrence.edu/swimlessons.
Classes will meet on Tuesday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Each swim level is offered during each session so that siblings of different ages and abilities can take classes during the same timeframe. Discounts are available for siblings and multi-class participants (students who enroll in both Tuesday and Saturday classes simultaneously).
Class offerings will include Introduction to Water Skills, Fundamental Aquatic Skills, Stroke Development, Stroke Improvement, Stroke Refinement, and Swimming and Skill Proficiency.
There is no deadline to register for a class advance but registration is preferred.
Sarah Lawrence is a liberal arts college for men and women, founded in 1926, with a distinctive system of education. It is known for having one of the lowest (6:1) student/faculty ratios in the country. At the core of the system are small classes, regular one-on-one student-faculty conferences, cross-disciplinary approaches and the integration of the creative arts within the curriculum.
