Rye, NY - The Rye Town Park Commission has announced the fee schedule for parking and beach access for the 2008 season.
This schedule includes fees for season permits for parking and beach access, as well as fees for per diem parking and beach access. Season permits are divided into two types: resident permits and non-resident permits. All permits will go on sale at the Rye Town Park Administration (Towers) Building starting Saturday, May 10th. Proof of residence is required.
For residents of Port Chester, Rye Brook, Rye City and the Rye Neck section of the Village of Mamaroneck, fees range from a one-time Senior (62+) rate of $20, which entitles purchasers to free parking and free beach access, to a “Platinum Family” rate of $325, which also entitles purchasers to free parking and beach access. Other rates include: Singles, for $100 that entitle purchasers to parking for $3 and beach access for $1; Family - $120, $3, $1 (per adult); Gold Single - $140, $3, free; and, Gold Family - $180, $3, free. Residents can purchase an “Annual Parking Only” permit for $120.
While residents senior permit holders pay a one-time fee, they must get a new Rye Town Park Card each year.
Non-resident permits are offered to people living in Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison. The rates for these permits are somewhat higher than those for residents. Three types of permits are available: Senior - $40, $3, $1; Single - $200, $4, $1; and Family - $300, $4, $1 (per adult).
Resident and non-resident Family Permits include two parents and their children under 16 years of age. It does not include other relatives, babysitters, etc.
Resident non-permit holders can pay a per diem fee of $7 for parking ($8 Sat & Sun.) and $7 ($8 Sat. & Sun) for beach access. The fees for non-resident non permit holders are $10 for parking and $10 per person for beach access.
Parking fees apply daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the 2008 season, parking will be free after 6 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays when firework shows are held at Playland Park, parking will be $5 for non-permit holders and free for permit holders. On Thursdays through Sundays, plus Wednesdays and Fridays before and after the fireworks season, parking will be $2 for all cars. The park closes at midnight during the season.
Rye Town Park is a 62 acre preserve of mature plantings; gentle, rolling hills; a duck pond; and beachfront. The park's crescent shaped 1,200 foot long white sand beach offers the general public splendid access to the shores of the Long Island Sound. Seaside Johnnie’s seafood restaurant is located along the beachfront, adjacent to the public parking lot.

All current Senior Permit Holders will not pay the one time fee of $20.00 BUT, you must still go to the Permit Office to obtain a new Rye Town Park Card. This fee is only for new senior permits.
