Brewster, NY - CB Walker Stables, a new, state-of-the-art equestrian center located on 52 acres along the Brewster/North Salem border commences its inaugural season with exciting equestrian and leisure events for adults and children.
Beyond offering private, semi-private and group lessons for all ages, the stable will also present a fun program of summer events for the whole family. This summer, the center will open “Starr Ridge Country Day Camp at CB Walker,” an equestrian camp running for two weeks in July and two weeks in August. Open to boys and girls ages 5-14, the camp will provide a mixture of daily riding, horse and stable management, arts and crafts, games and nature exploration.
On Saturday, July 11 the center will host the first annual Horse and Horsepower car show. Horse and Horsepower highlights the cruising season uniting equestrians, car collectors and the curious for a day-long family-friendly event.
Backed by the deep knowledge and outstanding horsemanship honed by five generations of dedicated equestrians, CB Walker Stables was established in late 2008. The stunning, world-class farm is owned and operated by father-daughter team Bob Bolender and Courtney Bolender Bajraktari, and serves as a full-service equestrian center offering boarding, lessons, training and sales.
“CB Walker is unique in that we offer leisure riding as well as, jumping, dressage and eventing for more serious riders,” notes Courtney Bolender Bajraktari, a 20-year equestrian veteran and accomplished camp director. “Whether you’re an experienced rider and competitor, or just getting started as a hobby, we’ll help you make the most of your riding experience.”
“Riding isn’t always about competition,” explains Bob Bolender, whose equestrian career spans more than 50 years. “This stable is for anyone who wishes to simply experience the joy of riding in the fresh air and to connect with nature in a picturesque setting.”
Horseback riding offers a host of physical and emotional benefits to riders, including improved balance, muscle strength and coordination, reflexes and flexibility. Riding also offers a host of mental, emotional and spiritual benefits, including improved self-confidence and risk taking abilities, as well as the development of patience, emotional control and self-discipline.
Situated on the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties, and roughly an hour north of Manhattan, the 50-stall facility includes a 100 ft. x 200 ft. connected indoor riding ring and a 150 ft. x 250 ft. outdoor riding arena. The complex also features a two-story heated and air-conditioned viewing room; four grooming stalls, four heated wash stalls and two tack rooms. They are a passive climate controlled facility.

My wife and I needed some time to think about it but this week I enrolled them in the summer program at CB Walker Stables and they absolutely love it.
I would recommend the place to anyone searching for a summer activity for their child.
