Mamaroneck, NY - Tickets for the NY Sportimes 2008 home match schedule will go on sale May 1.

Serena Williams, the best female player in the world today, will be joined by her team, the Washington Kastles, as they face off against the NY Sportimes on Thursday, July 10 at 7:30pm. This will be Ms. Williams first-ever playing appearance in Westchester County. The event will include the Sportimes’ annual “Ladies Night” from 4:00 – 5:30pm. All ladies 18 years or older with a valid ticket for July 10th are invited to partake in a free tennis clinic hosted by the NY Sportimes with a scheduled appearance by Ms. Williams. Special contests, prizes, giveaways and refreshments will top off the event.
“Kids Night” concludes the Sportimes home match schedule; fans ages 4-16 with a valid ticket for July 18th are invited to a free clinic from 4:00 – 5:30pm on that date. Kids will meet their favorite NY Sportimes team players, attend a clinic, win prizes and get a free tennis racquet, cover and balls courtesy of WTT sponsor, Advanta (while supplies last).
As always, the 2008 WTT season at Sportime Stadium will include sensational visiting talent from around the League. Opening day brings the Boston Lobsters led by American heartthrob and former #14 in the world, Jan-Michael Gambill. Lisa Raymond, former #1 in the world in doubles and #15 in singles, and currently #13 in the world in doubles, and one of the winningest female players ever, will bring her Philadelphia Freedoms team to Sportime Stadium on July 7 and again on July 12. Joining Raymond will be former Sportimes player, Alex Bogomolov (“Bogie”) who was drafted by the Freedoms in the first round of the WTT Player Draft. The League’s newest team, the Washington Kastles, along with Serena Williams, will come to town with American standout Justin Gimelstob, winner of a mixed doubles grand slam title and 13 ATP doubles titles, and now a columnist for Sports Illustrated and a busy television announcer. The veteran Thai player Tamarine Tanasugarn, 2007 WTT MVP and former world top 20 in both singles and doubles, brings her Springfield Lasers to town July 17th. The Sportimes’ final home match night welcomes the Newport Beach Breakers, featuring the #1 player from Paraguay, Ramon Delgado.
