Bronxville Teen To Compete In Figure Skating Championships |

 Bronxville, NY - Bronxville resident Matthew Loiacono, 16, has teamed up with Ramona Wright of New York City to compete in ice dancing at the 2009 Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships scheduled to take place at the Skating Club of Boston from November 11-15, 2008.
Brad Cox has been coaching Matthew for many years and has been looking for a suitable dance partner for him. Cox posted Matthew=s profile on a skating web site and Ramona=s mom, Lisea, responded. The two skated together for the first time on September 5th at the Rye Figure Skating Club and it appears to be a match made in heaven.
Matthew, who has been skating for eight years, and Ramona were separately studying the same dance moves and were able to quickly blend their parts together in their first practice session. Matthew and Ramona=s coach, Brad Cox, is very excited about his newly-formed team. AThere=s no doubt that there is work to be done, and they will be on the practice ice six days a week up until the time of the competition,@ Cox said. "They are a new ice dance team, working very hard to compete against more experienced teams and I know they will give it their all in an effort to place high enough in the Sectionals to move on to the Junior Nationals in Lake Placid.@ The top eight dance teams will advance to the next level of competition.
