 Mt. Kisco, NY - Swimmers and divers from all over the county will make a splash as they compete for top honors in their age groups during the 83rd annual Westchester County Swimming and Diving Championships, which will take place in July and August at two county-owned swimming pools.
The events are sponsored by Westchester County Parks and the Westchester County Swimming Association.
Sprain Ridge Pool in Yonkers will be the site for the diving competition, slated for Monday and Tuesday, July 28 and 29, beginning at 2 p.m. each day. Divers ages 10 to 13 will compete on Monday, while divers 14 to 17 will compete on Tuesday.
Playland Pool in Rye will host the swimming competition, which begins on Monday, August 4, and runs through Thursday, August 7, beginning at 4:30 p.m. each day.
Participants do not need to be members of a team, but they must pre-register with the Westchester County Swimming Association by calling (914) 864-7058.
Entry fee is $2 per event, and registration deadline is Monday, July 21 at 9 p.m. Rain dates are July 30 for the diving events and August 8 for swimming.
Sprain Ridge Pool is located on Jackson Avenue in Yonkers and can be reached via the Sprain Brook Parkway, Jackson Avenue exit.
Playland Park is located in Rye and can be reached via the New England Thruway, Playland Parkway exit 19.
