White Plains, NY - On July 8, 2008, Yoga Journey of White Plains will be launching a specialty 6-week series class dedicated to Seniors (50+) and those with limited mobility that will run until August 11, 2008.

As downtown White Plains has grown, we are encountering more and more of the stresses normally associated with New York and other big cities; higher prices and faster pace, people walking faster and talking less. Now more than ever the need to breathe, be mobile and find balance is essential to keeping the quality of life “high.” And this becomes more and more important as we age.  Activity is essential for helping seniors live longer, healthier lives—both physically and mentally.

Yoga for Seniors is known to: relieve chronic pain after as little as 4 weeks, decrease anxiety and elevate mood, assist with breathing difficulties, help relieve insomnia, strengthen areas of the body afflicted with arthritis, limit weight gain, and lower blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and tryglycerides.   With so many benefits, we should all be practicing yoga.
