White Plains, NY - November is National Family Caregiver Month, and the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services in partnership with the Westchester Library System have scheduled caregiver-support programs from Nov. 7 to Nov. 29.
Six programs will take place at libraries throughout Westchester, and a caregiver counselor will be on hand at each one to answer questions. The events are also a chance for caregivers to pick up brochures on a wide variety of topics, such as respite services, ways to cope, how to involve the whole family and planning for the future.
In addition, there will be a talk on “Who is Taking Care of the Caregiver?” on Nov. 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, 701 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow. Printed material will also be available.
Reservations are not necessary for any of the events, which DSPS presents through its Family Caregiver Support Program.
