Presentation On Starting Your Aging In Place Project
Posted by Westchester.com

Westchester Senior NewsYonkers, NY - On April 29, the Center for Aging in Place Support (CAPS), in collaboration with 55 Plus Yonkers Connections, will be presenting “Aging in Place: How to Start Your Grassroots Project,” at 6 PM at the Will Library in Yonkers.

According to surveys, 9 out of every 10 people in the United States want to remain in their own homes and communities as they age.  Residents of Westchester have begun initiatives that help them get access to programs and services to help them to “age in place.”  Now you can learn how to start an aging in place project in your community.

Topics to be covered will include:

What Aging in Place is and how it relates to the county’s Livable Communities project.

What models other communities around the country have used to organize their Aging in Place projects.

What projects are active in Westchester and how they got started.

Who else wants to start a project in your community.

The program is free and is open to anyone who wants to learn more about this exciting concept.  For more information, or to attend, contact CAPS at 914-833-9654 or This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .
