Tarrytown, NY - Award-winning News 12 Westchester Evening News anchor Janine Rose was the emcee at the recent Westchester County Department of Senior Programs & Services conference on “Livable Communities: A Vision for All Ages – Bringing People and Places Together” at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.
Over 350 people attended the event, including seniors, representatives of non-profit organizations and businesses that serve the adult community.
The “Livable Communities” initiative aims to help seniors remain in their homes as they grow older with independence, dignity and civic engagement. The initiative is currently unfolding in Westchester through the Livable Community Village Approach. Currently, the county has more than 70 villages where “neighbors-helping neighbors” is a way of life.
Along with anchoring the News 12 Westchester Evening News, Ms. Rose hosts “Newsmakers,” a weekend program that focuses on the people and events making headlines in Westchester County. She is also News Director at News 12 Westchester and News 12 Hudson Valley. Ms. Rose has won two Emmys, as well as numerous other recognitions for her work. She began her career with Cablevision over 20 years ago. She grew up in Westchester and is currently a resident of Pelham.
