Mt. Kisco, NY - The Professional Development Center (PDC), one of Westchester County’s most prominent training consulting firms, has been awarded a $7,500 Workforce Development Training Grant by the State University of New York.
The grant will be used to conduct training for Co-Communications, a full-service public relations and marketing firm headquartered in Mount Kisco, NY.
The Professional Development Center (PDC) provides an array of training solutions for businesses and individuals throughout Westchester County. Offerings include on-site classes in language, presentation skills, team building, computer skills, and leadership. The PDC also offers courses online through partnerships with distance learning companies. A variety of programs are available for career changers as well, such as certificates in medical billing and coding and paralegal studies.
“The Professional Development Center plays a key role in our local business community,” says PDC Director Harry Horowitz. “We fill a gap in developing human capital. Westchester’s best assets are the high quality people who work for its organizations. We try to take people to the next level by developing specific skills, from how they communicate with clients to how they use their computers.”
All classes are taught by experienced instructors, many of whom come from the ranks of Fortune 500 companies. For companies that lack a training department, the PDC will send qualified professionals to conduct a training assessment and deliver a findings report with the best training solutions for their employees. The combination of high quality programs with affordable rates has made the PDC a key training provider for many area companies, including Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, the IBM Learning Center, Stew Leonard’s, Hudson Valley Bank, and New York Presbyterian Hospital.
“The most successful businesses are those committed to ongoing training and staff development,” said Co-Communications’ President Stacey Cohen. “During a recession, training budgets are often the first to be cut. When the upturn comes, however, our staff will have new skills that will put us one step ahead. We are thrilled to partner with PDC for this wonderful opportunity.”
