White Plains, NY - Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plains, is planning a first-ever, three-day Homecoming celebration that will combine the annual Golf Classic, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner and the Homecoming football game and festivities, Thursday through Saturday, October 9-11.
Canyon Club in Armonk will host the Alumni Association’s Annual Golf Classic and Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on October 9. Registration for golf is at 10 AM, followed by launch at 11 AM and the shotgun start at noon. At 6 PM, there will be a cocktail reception and the dinner and induction ceremony at 7 PM.
This year’s distinguished alumni inductees are:
- Robert Landry (’54), past President of the Stepinac Foundation and Alumni Association, Partner, O’Connor Davies Munns & Dobbins, LLP
- William Choquette (’58), Benefactor and Senior Vice President, Gilbane Co.
- Brien Thomas Collins (’58)—posthumously. Mr. Collins was a Vietnam War veteran, attorney and member of the California Assembly.
- Arthur Malesardi (’58)— posthumously. Mr. Malesardi had the distinction of being a 12 Varsity Letter winner.
- Rev. Msgr. Joseph R. Giandurco (’79), Professor, Pastor and Vice Postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Terence Cardinal Cooke
- Brother Alois O’Toole, CFX— posthumously. Brother O’Toole was a distinguished faculty member, coach and friend.
- T. Joseph Sullivan, Coach of the Stepinac Crusaders football team.
In addition, Richard Massaroni will receive the Cardinal O’Connor Service Award for his extraordinary service to the Stepinac community.
The Homecoming Day festivities on Saturday, October 11 include a school tour at noon, pre-game ceremonies at 1:15 PM and the kick-off game between Stepinac’s Crusaders and St. Francis Prep at 1:30 PM. A hospitality tent with food and beverages will be available during the Homecoming game.
There will be a Mass in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at 5 PM, followed by a reunion dinner for the class of 1958 at 6:30 PM.
Rev. Msgr. Anthony D. Marchitelli, President of Stepinac High School, said: “We are excited about the three days of combined Homecoming events we are planning this year which will surely appeal to our alumni, providing them with lots of quality time to spend together, reminisce and to renew and strengthen the bonds to each other and to our great school.”
The pricing is $300 for the Golf Outing and $150 for the Hall of Fame Dinner. There is no cost for the Homecoming Day festivities.
