Music, entertainment, refreshments and FUN for the whole family!  This year we will also include resource tables, providing our families and friends  with information from various organizations in the special needs community.

Event Sponsors include:  The Lavine Family Charitable Gift Fund, and JK Prosthetics & Orthotics  Food Table & Entertainment Sponsors:  Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, North Street Community, LLC, AKS International, Inc., Littman Krooks, LLP, and Double Image Sounds & Entertainment, Inc.

John A. Coleman School provides a full continuum of special education services to over 400 children with complex medical conditions and developmental delays from birth to 21 years of age.  With campuses in Manhattan and White Plains, the John A. Coleman School is recognized as a program of excellence in offering home, community, center-based and residential services to children in the geographical areas of Westchester, Putnam, Bronx and Manhattan counties.  The John A. Coleman School is affiliated with the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center and both programs are sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of New York.

Adrienne J. Arkontaky of Littman Krooks, LLC is once again our Event Chairperson for the Walk-a-thon.  Adrienne’s daughter, Jordan, attended the school 15 years ago.  “In attempt to get Jordan as much help as possible, we searched for a school that would assist Jordan to develop to her fullest potential and still allow her to enjoy the experience of being a child. We had heard of a place in White Plains where children like Jordan were able to thrive, with a devoted and caring staff committed to working with children with special needs and their families.  A dear friend of mine called it “a place where miracles happen. That place today is called the “John A. Coleman School.”

Business, community organizations and area schools are being asked to take part and form teams and encourage them to walk and raise money “For the Children”.  Sponsorship Opportunities and Resource Tables are still available.  In addition, contributions in support of the John A. Coleman School Annual Walk-a-thon can be sent directly to John A. Coleman School, 317 North Street, White Plains NY 10605, Attn:  Walk-a-thon.
