Hartsdale, NY - Paul A. Ficalora of Houlihan Business Brokers recently brokered the sale of the restaurant formerly known as Piave, and Café Meze before that, at 20 North Central Avenue, Hartsdale, NY.
For many years the restaurant was originally known as Sergio’s. Upon retiring, Sergio Losapio sold the business to John Livanos who operated the restaurant very successfully as Café Meze. 14 years later the restaurant business was sold again to become Piave.
Girolamo (Jerry) Colella and Michael Agrusa are the new owners and are planning to re-open the restaurant before the end of the year as Caffé Azzurri. Jerry and Michael have 9 years of experience operating restaurants in New Jersey and Long Island.
John Livanos and his sons Nick and Bill engaged Gerry Houlihan to list the restaurant for sale in January 2009. Paul A. Ficalora located the buyers in less than 3 months. A delay in acquiring the liquor license pushed the closing to October.
“Thanks to Paul’s hands-on coordination effort the sale went very smoothly” said Bill Livanos, and Jerry Colella said “Paul is a gentleman and a true professional. I was a very pleased and satisfied with my experience working with Paul.”
