Mt. Kisco, NY - Have you been looking for a way to de-stress your body and mind? Do you enjoy being surrounded by nature’s tranquility and beauty? Then join certified Kripalu Yoga instructor Franklin Shire for an outdoor morning session, Saturday, September 13, 9:30 a.m. at Cranberry Lake Preserve in North White Plains.
In ancient Sanskrit, yoga means yoke or union, the joining of mind, body and spirit, a process that can happen easily against a beautiful backdrop like Cranberry Lake. Kripalu is a yoga of compassion and of the heart, described as being less about “getting it right” and more about self-awareness. In this session you will breathe, relax, feel and discover your own yoga.
Franklin Shire has been walking and reflecting at Cranberry Lake Preserve for 20 years. He teaches in Westchester County at fitness clubs, yoga studios and privately, and volunteers at public schools in the Bronx. He is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association and the Westchester Yoga Teachers Alliance.
Participants should bring their own a mat and be prepared for a relaxed walk to a scenic spot where the program will take place. Beginners are welcome. There is no pre-registration or fee for the program.
Cranberry Lake Preserve, a Westchester County Park, is located at 1609 Old Orchard Street North in White Plains.
