White Plains, NY - Westchester County has teamed up again with the New York Blood Center’s Hudson Valley Blood Services to sponsor a blood drive on Sept. 11.
The event is open to the general public as well as county employees.
It will take place at the Westchester County Center in White Plains (the intersection of Tarrytown Road and Central Park Avenue) from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.. The last donor appointment will be 4:15 p.m.
The drive will kick-off with a recognition breakfast from 8 - 9:30 a.m. The breakfast, provided and coordinated by Hudson Valley Blood Services, will recognize longtime blood donors, departmental drive captains and other county employees who have worked hard throughout the years to ease ongoing blood shortages.
The public is encouraged to donate blood to ease the persistently low supply of whole blood and platelets. For further information go to http://www.westchestergov.com/finance/Blood.htm.
To make an appointment for the County Center, call 995-2127.
