St. John’s Adds 5 Physicians

Westchester Health NewsYonkers, NY - St. John’s Riverside Hospital has announced that it has added five new members to its medical staff.

Veronica J. Williams, M.D.
Dr. Williams, recently granted privileges at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, is Board Certified in Pediatrics.  Having received her Medical Degree in 1993 from Georgetown University, Dr. Williams did her residency and internship at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Williams is currently residing in New York, NY and is practicing at Executive Pediatrics in Yonkers, NY.

Gary Phillips, M.D.
Dr. Phillips has been granted privileges at St. John’s Riverside Hospital after completing an internship at Cabrini Hospital and residency at Roosevelt Hospital in New York.  He received his medical degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1984, and completed a fellowship in 1991 at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, DC.  Dr. Phillips is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Dr. Phillips is currently residing in Poughkeepsie, NY and is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society. 

Henry J. Tannous, M.D.
Dr. Tannous, recently granted privileges at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, is Board Certified in General Surgery.  Having received his Medical Degree in 2000 from the American University of Beirut, Dr. Tannous did his residency at Waterbury Hospital Health Center.  Also affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital, and a member of the American College of Surgery as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society since 1999, Dr. Tannous resides in New York, NY.

Steven A. Francescone, M.D.
Dr. Francescone, a resident of Westchester, has joined the Hospital’s Cardiology Department. Dr. Francescone graduated from Cornell University in 1998, and received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and internship at New York Presbyterian Cornell Medical Center in 2003. Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine, Dr. Francescone is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography. He currently practices in Yonkers, NY.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital is a 407-bed hospital that has provided health care to the City of Yonkers and southern Westchester since 1869. Approximately 400 physicians, representing almost every medical and surgical specialty, are on staff. Riverside Health Care System, Inc. includes St. John’s Andrus and ParkCare Pavilions, the Community Hospital at Dobbs Ferry, Cochran School of Nursing and the Michael N. Malotz Skilled Nursing Pavilion, Valentine Lane Family Practice, and Park Central Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center.
