Program For Family Caregivers In New Rochelle |

New Rochelle, NY - A program about how family caregivers can enhance their quality of life through therapeutic options and opportunities will take place Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Ave., New Rochelle. The event – which is free and open to the public – is being presented in honor of National Caregiver/Home-Care Month.
Rina Ginat, a registered nurse who has an advanced degree in holistic nursing, will discuss “Staying Up in a Down World” from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The afternoon program will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. It will include talks by Nancy D’Auria, a registered nurse and director of the ElderServe Licensed Home Care Agency, who will speak about “Caregiver Resources – Home-Care Services.” Laura Bolotsky, director of operations at Westchester County’s Department of Senior Programs and Services (DSPS), will discuss “Respite Resources.”
Information will be available on assisted living, adult day care and support groups for families and caregivers. Hot lunches will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at $2 for seniors and $6 for others. Registration is required for lunch and to attend the program.
