 White Plains, NY - Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester (HPCW) announced that its Seventh Annual Gala Cocktail Reception, In Celebration, will take place at Westchester Country Club, Rye, on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.
Four individuals will be honored for their dedication to Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester and to the Westchester County community. They are Joan DiPalma of Rye, Gaierose P. Haskell of White Plains, Craig Ruoff of Irvington, and John B. Sciurba of Shrub Oak.
In Celebration's Grand Sponsor is Bronxville resident Anna L. Shereff; Major Sponsor is White Plains Hospital Center; and Sponsors are Entergy Nuclear; Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester; White Plains Radiology Associates, P.C.; and Rakow Commercial Realty Group, Inc.
Event co-chairs are James P. O'Toole of James P. O'Toole Consulting, Darien, Conn.; Pleasantville resident Rick Rakow, Rakow Commercial Realty Group, White Plains and Stamford, Conn.; Chappaqua resident Jon B. Schandler, president and CEO, White Plains Hospital Center; White Plains resident James Steets, Regional Communications Director for Entergy Nuclear, and Brewster resident Carol L. Weber, president and CEO, Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester.
Funds raised at the event will support The Anna and Louis H. Shereff Caregiver Program, which was established 13 years ago by Mrs. Anna L. Shereff. This program allows eligible patients to remain in their own homes surrounded by the love and support of their families and caregivers.
"We are thrilled to celebrate our 16th anniversary and are equally excited to honor four outstanding individuals for their unwavering commitment to HPCW and to our community," said Kate Colburn, M.A., executive director, HPCW.
