 White Plains, NY - Learn about genes, nutrition, diabetes, heart disease, mental health, non-traditional practices and more by stopping in at the “Building Healthier Lives Together Family Health Fair” in New Rochelle on Saturday, April 5.
The event, presented by the National Trends and Services Facet of the Westchester County Chapter of The Links, Inc. and the New Rochelle High School Mentoring Program, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the New Rochelle High School auditorium at 265 Clove Road in recognition of National Health Disparities Month.
Dr. Cheryl Archbald, deputy commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Health, will be the keynote speaker. Workshops will also be available on a variety of healthcare topics including teen health awareness, legal healthcare tools, genetics, staying physically active, nutrition, diabetes and heart disease, non-traditional practices, mental health, monitoring with the use of technology and Lighthouse International Vision Health Education.
The program is co-sponsored by New Rochelle High School’s Student Community Action (SCA) and Black Culture and Hispanic Culture clubs. Supporters include the county’s African American Advisory Board, Sarah Lawrence College, and the county’s departments of Health and Senior Programs and Services.
