Westchester Health NewsValhalla, NY - Blythedale Children’s Hospital and The Dannon Company will host a special “Grab ‘n Go Meals” workshop on Wednesday, October 15 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the hospital at 95 Bradhurst Avenue in Valhalla.

Presented as part of the hospital’s Community Health Lecture Series, the workshop will be a hands-on approach to quick and healthy meals for busy tweens and teens.

Recommended for parents and children between the ages of 10 and 14, the workshop will feature a lecture by dietitians Mindy Hermann and Marie Roth, followed by a trip to the cafeteria where children will prepare their own “grab and go” foods for breakfast, snacks and lunch.  The participants will be able to create fun foods that help to meet the health and nutritional needs of growing tweens and teens.

Ms. Hermann is a frequent speaker on children’s nutrition issues and the role that schools play in building healthy eaters. She has written more than 200 nutrition and health articles for parents, women’s and health magazines. Ms. Roth is a Registered Dietitian at Blythedale Children’s Hospital and co-author and instructor of “Eat Well, Be Well,” Blythedale’s community-based nutrition-based nutrition outreach program.

The “Grab ‘n Go Meals” workshop is made possible by a generous grant from The Dannon Company. The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is required by Wednesday, October 8.  For more information or to register, please call Lena Cavanna at (914) 592-7138, ext 374 or email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .
