Each year, hundreds of thousands of children are hospitalized for child passenger injuries, bicycle and ski injuries. Simple steps, including properly fitted car seats, bicycle and ski helmets, as well as communication about injury prevention, can dramatically reduce the impact of unintentional injuries among children.

Since 2000, Kohl’s Department Stores has donated more than $1.1 million to Blythedale. Through its yearly sales of special “Kohl’s Cares for Kids®” stuffed animals and books, Kohl’s raises funds to benefit health and educational opportunities for the communities it serves. The funds raised by “Kohl’s Cares for Kids®” enable Blythedale to conduct a year-long outreach and education program. The program consists of a series of educational activities in Westchester and lower Putnam Counties aimed at children, school personnel, families and caregivers.
