 Valhalla, NY - For the sixth-consecutive year, Blythedale Children’s Hospital has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (CQCR) – a designation only 700 hospitals in the United States have achieved.
The CQCR is a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals.
The AARC was formed in 1947 and has been committed to enhancing the professionalism, improving the performance and helping to broaden the scope of knowledge essential to the success of Respiratory Care Practitioner. In 2003, the “Quality Respiratory Care Recognition” award was conceived to identify hospitals and home care companies that meet strict safety and quality standards related to the provision of respiratory care services by qualified respiratory therapists. Hospitals that earn this designation agree to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services.
According to Chief Operating Officer Maureen Desimone, “Respiratory therapy is a signature program at Blythedale. It is a critical component of our patient care and we are very proud of the extraordinary efforts of our talented team,” she said.”
All Blythedale’s pediatric-trained respiratory care specialists are members of the American Association for Respiratory Care. Blythedale’s Respiratory Therapy Department provides services to inpatients and Day Hospital patients; evaluating, treating and caring for children with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.
