Rye, NY - The Osborn Retirement Community is hosting a blood drive by the Westchester County Red Cross on Friday March 7th from 1PM-6PM in the Auditorium.
Interested donors may call Maria Boccardi at 925-8309 or Geri Cusumano at 925-8344 to sign up. The Osborn is located at 101 Theall Road in Rye, NY.
The American Red Cross, Blood Services New York-Penn Region is seeking current and new blood donors to help replenish and maintain its blood inventory to a five-to-seven-day level.
Your eligibility to give blood depends, among other factors, on your medical condition and past behaviors. Anyone 17 years or older, weighing at least 110 pounds and in general good health may be eligible to donate blood. In New York State, 16-year-olds may donate blood provided they bring an original signed New York State Informed Parental Permission form. The consent form can be found at www.DonateBloodNow.org/16.
Identification is required at the time of donation to give blood. Any person in general good health who is at least 17 years old and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to give blood. Whole blood donors can safely donate blood every 56 days. Double red cell donors can safely donate blood every 112 days.
