Armonk Doctor Elected To Board Of ASBS

Westchester Health NewsWhite Plains, NY - White Plains Hospital Center’s Arthur G. Lerner, MD, FACS, Surgical Director of the Hospital’s Dickstein Cancer Treatment Center, was elected Chairman of the Board, American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBS) at their Annual Meeting in New York City, attended by 1300 physicians, April 30- May 4th.

Dr. Lerner, a resident of Armonk, is an attending surgeon and Director Emeritus of the Department of Surgery and has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years. Dr. Lerner chairs the Society’s Breast Imaging Technologies Committee, serves on the corporate relations committee and is a past president (2001-2002). He has served as a course director and faculty member for a number of post graduate courses for surgeons conducted by the Society.

Established in 1995, the American Society of Breast Surgeons boasts a membership of 2600 people, mostly from the United States, but also including representation from 35 countries. The Society was founded to promote the study of breast surgery, advocate for research and development of advanced surgical techniques, to be a forum for idea sharing and exchange, and serve as an advocate for patients with breast diseases and the surgeons who care for them.
