Purchase, NY - Voices are being raised around the country about Alzheimer’s disease. More and more people are turning out to affect change and are marching for the cause of Alzheimer’s disease.
By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, you can MOVE this support ahead. The Alzheimer’s Association – Hudson Valley, Rockland, Westchester, NY Chapter needs you to continue this 2008 trend.
Memory Walk is the Association’s biggest fundraiser. Our local goal is the highest it’s ever been, because the need is perhaps the greatest it has ever been. Millions of Americans now have Alzheimer’s disease; at least 40,000 live in the Hudson Valley. And every 71 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer’s.
A startling new statistic has emerged: as baby boomers approach the greatest risk for the disease, we know that 10 million will be diagnosed in their lifetime if a cure or prevention is not found.
You can take the cause into your own hands, and join Memory Walk to make a difference. Memory Walk can bring teamwork, a healthy workout, fundraising and laughter together to result in help for the vital services and programs provided by the Alzheimer’s Association’s local Chapter.
Sponsors have already joined. Genworth Financial is the presenting national sponsor; Silver Sponsors are Compensation Risk Management (CRM), Health Quest, the radio stations WPDH 101.5, Mix 97.7 and The Wolf 94.3. Twenty more sponsors are on board to bolster this year’s record fundraising goal.
Memory Walk will be take place on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2008 at White Plains High School (Bryant Avenue entrance) 550 North Street, White Plains.
Registration is at 9:00 a.m., Walk is at 10:00 a.m.
