Lunch And Learn Program Looks At Human Rights Law |

 White Plains, NY - If you’ve been treated unfairly, subjected to discrimination, or if you just want to learn more about Westchester County’s Human Rights Law, sign up to attend an upcoming “Lunch and Learn” session and learn how the Human Rights Commission can help.
The series, scheduled for three upcoming Thursdays, will present the full scope of the Human Rights Law protections and remedies, which include equitable relief, monetary damages and possibly attorney’s fees. Sessions are offered Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the third floor conference room at 112 East Post. Road. Light refreshments will be served and participants can attend one or all of the sessions.
Many individuals and businesses are not aware of the law which prohibits discrimination in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodation and credit on the basis of age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, race, gender or religion. The law also offers protection to victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual abuse from discrimination in employment and housing.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with Deputy Director Jerrice Duckett Epps and members of the investigative staff.
